Bloggers in Print

I got my electronic copy of Battle Games yesterday, and found a very well written article on figure painting.  I found myself alternating between thoughts of "hey this guy does what I do" and "dang those figures and bottle cap thingies look familiar".  When I got to the bottom of the article I found out why everything looked so familiar - the author and painter was Stokes from http://grandduchyofstollen.blogspot.ca/.

Well done Stokes, lots of good advice.  I follow some of the same rules - a white base coat, thinned down acrylics and washes.  I employ the two feet rule - if needs to look good from 2 feet away.  Things have been silent from the Duchy of late, I suspect it's end of term crunch for him but I'm looking forward to more.

  1. Thank you, Peter! Yes, end of the term and (no rest for the wicked) now May Term. Daily three hour classes for a film course I'm teaching until May 24th. Lots of fun, but grueling. I'll see everyone on the other side though.

    Best Regards,

    Stokes

Three hours of lectures a day - yikes! I taught a night class in stats with 3 hour lectures once, but it was once a week. It did however produce my favourite comment on the evaluation forms filed in by students "Instructer seems to lose focus in third hour of lecture". No sh*t, so did the students!

Remember that this isn't the Game of Thrones and therefore summer is coming.

    Cheers
