Start of the Game with all units hidden. Stacey methodically counts noses on the French side. |
Yikes! That's a lot of Frenchies! |
The Anglo Allied right initially, soon to become our centre as we shift right Not much terrain to hide behind (the fields are only for show). No hills and a few woods. |
Mid game, Vandamme pushes in the centre, taking a heavy toll from British fire. I think that Vandamme himself had a couple of brigades shot out from under him. |
how do you like the Blucher ruleset?
ReplyDeleteI have been really impressed. They are easy to pick and I find them quite intuitive. But there is a lot of clever and subtle detail behind the scenes that give a good historical result.

Sounds like a good use of terrain to hold the French as long as you did. Is the campaign still running? Will the Anglo-Allied army be able to unite with Blucher?
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of Blucher for the very reasons you gave to Milesy. Terrific set of rules for the level it works at.

DeleteThe campaign is still ongoing, so I won't say much yet. Keep your eyes open for further news however. Given what we were up against we did reasonably well, and we had dome bad luck to overcome. But I am kicking myself over getting into such a jam in the first place.
