AHPC More Orky Dorky Tanks

Like many Challengers I am busy clearing stuff out of the 99% done pile before this week end's deadline while trying to get my submission for the Snowlord ready.  This is another Gretchin tank 3D printed by gaming buddy JeremyM.  It's of suitably unknown providence for an Orky vehicle.  I've continued mostly with my Maserati red with steampunk bronze fittings colour scheme mostly because I can't be ar*ed to come up with another.  You may however note hints of other colours on the current flanks.

Profile views show that the Maserati red is in this case Claret with Amber stripes on the turret. Challengers or those with a Yorkshire connection may recognize these as the home colours for KenR's beloved/cursed Bradford City Football Club.  I reckon this tank has about as much chance on the pitch as BCFC.

That should be 20 points for the 28mm vehicle and I'm off to work on my submission for the Snowlord's altar.

Orks for the Dorklord! That tank is most certainly red.

Another Orky Dorky Tank

Another dorky dorky little tank courtesy of JeremyM and his 3D printer.  I've had fun painting these models up, they make a great break from my more regimented historical pieces.  A chance for the brain to go oh WTF what ever feel right.

I used the same Maserati red livery as the previous model with heavy handed washes for weathering and plenty of steampunk bronze thrown about for good measure. I gave this tank a Flash Gordon/Duck Dodgers style ray gun and attempted to do the beam in cobalt blue along th barrel, but it wasn't a great success.

Plenty of detail here, but fortunately no one can play rivet counter with a fantasy tank.

After a number of years, I thought that I'd jump on the Skullz bandwagon (a sure sign that Skullz are in danger of becoming passe) and add a couple here.  I've free handed a Ramones pin head skull either side in memories of my youth.  In 1978 or 79 I friend and I had tickets to see the Ramones at the Hammersith Odeon, only to have the show canceled due to illness in the band.  This was perhaps the biggest disappointment of my teenage years that didn't involve girls.

This gives me another bit of armour to clank across the battlefield before blowing up in a spectacular epic fail, another 20 points on the roster and an initial 2 pips on the Skullometer.

Gretchin Tank for The Armoury AHPC

This isn't how I had intended this little tank to turn out.  I had wanted to paint a mock Caunter camouflage pattern to echo back to a 10mm Western Desert collection that I did nearly 20 years ago.  But then the tank talked to me.  It said "Paint me liken Italian Racing Car.  Paint me like a Maserati 250f like Moss and Fangio drove".  Far be it for me to question the Words of Wisdom beamed into my skull by the Mothership so here we are.

This is a 3D print gifted to me by fellow challenger JeremyM.  Cheers for that Jeremy and have have other item from you in progress  on the bench.  I have no idea exactly what back of which truck this fell out from but it's a goofy little tank.  It painted up quite nicely in a very simple and basic job, but I had fun with it.

The inspiration

Points wise I think it's 20 points for a 28mm vehicle and 20 points of the Chamber, pending Minion approval.
